Market Trends
Social Networking and video sharing websites proved in 2007 that they are here to stay. While social networking giant Myspace's traffic held steady, Facebook's audience nearly doubled last year. Now that user-generated content has become an ingarined part of the Internet culture, advertisers are scrambling to get their products in front of all those eyeballs. US online social network add spending nearly tripled from $350 million in 2006 to $920 million in 2007, putting to shame more modest gains for overall ad spending. Online advertising in dollars reached an estimated $21.4 billion in 2007.
